Behind-the-Scenes: Trefiel in Bali

Hey Trefiel fam, I’m Karen. I’m super-lucky to be a part of Trefiel’s marketing team – after all, we did just come back from shooting the My Paradise campaign in beautiful Bali! But what went down behind-the-scenes? Well, here’s the good, the bad and the extra sweaty…

Things weren’t off to a great start – we arrived at night only to find out that the airline had left one of our luggage bags back in Sydney. Uh oh. This meant our guest photographer, Samantha Andison, was travelling extra light for 3 days! So that meant a quick shopping trip before heading down south to our eco resort, Sal Secret Spot to shoot our My Paradise campaign.

But we loved every second of it. Did you know that taking photos aren’t as easy as they seem and a lot of shots are involved to get the right one? Think taking 50 photos, only to find two that you love. By the time we were done, breakfast was served with strong coffee and cold, cold juice!

Forget the stereotypical Bali scenes you see on the news. Amongst all the running around and work, we had the most blissful experiences like exploring the ultra-chilled Bingin Beach, riding on the back of a motorbike through the bumpy streets of Canggu with Lucy and Michael, eating the most amazing acai bowls at every café we could find.

Think drinking a coconut while listening to waves, snoozing in bed with fluffy sheets, jumping into the water to get that fresh WAKE UP feeling, or a yummy meal that just makes your day. It’s about making the most of whatever is in front of you, wherever you are, and being grateful for it all.

I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t have post-travel blues, but I’ve continued to create my own happy moments at home in Sydney (Trefiel masks included, of course) and I hope it inspires you to do the same.

Much love,Karen x
